Friday in CEO, we toured WTWO in Farmersburg, Indiana. Our tour began by sitting down in the board room with Production Manager, Jeremy Moore. Jeremy gave the class an overview of what WTWO does and how they operate. WTWO was founded 56 years ago. Their studio is located in Farmersburg, South of Terre Haute, but their main offices are located in Indianapolis. Jeremy explained how they make money off of advertising, opposed to the programming. Another interesting fact Jeremy shared with the class was the meaning of WTWO. The “W” refers to their position East of the Mississippi River, standard of all radio and television stations, and the “TWO” refers to the channel where their programming appears, channel two. WTWO also manages WAWV and My Wabash Valley. After our time with Jeremy in the board room, we got a tour of the building. We got to see the sales offices, commercial production, and the reporter’s cubicles. We also got a tour of the set and the producer’s booth. After the tour, we returned to the board room where we discussed our personal businesses with Jeremy. He offered advice to all students and commended them for their creativity. On our way back to Lawrence County, we stopped at the Acorn Grill in Sullivan, where we enjoyed an exceptional lunch. It was a great day!
